TARTU ULIKOOL (TU)
The University of Tartu (UTARTU) in Estonia was founded in 1632 has 11 faculties, three research institutes and six colleges with a total number of students of over 18,000, and a teaching staff of 1,300. The Department of Polyclinic and Family Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1992 and has teaching, research and development responsibilities in the University.
Research topics for the department are: evaluation of quality of care offered in general practice, observational work on video-consultations in general practice, identification of helicobacter pylori infections in primary care, the epidemiology and prediction of depression in primary care.
The department has worked on four other research collaborations funded by the EC. These are 1) Eurocommunication II (Netherlands NIVEL, Poland, Romania, Sweden) 1999-2002; 036812 contract No IC15- CT98-0312 (DG12-CEOR) 2) Forum of health services research in primary care in CCE and NIS contract No IC15-CT98-0330 (DG12-SNRD) Hungary, Netherlands EGPRW, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, Slovenia 1999-2001; 3) EUROHEPYGAST 1994-1998, Biomed I programme. 4) PREDICT-QL4-CT2002-00638, FP5.4) EU FP7 project: Quality and cost of the primary care in Europe 2009-2012.
