IJIC Special Collection on Project Integrate

This special collection seeks to support the dissemination and learning from the Project by providing summaries and links to the published works of the academics involved, including to original papers published in IJIC. Specifically, the special collection focuses on the core work undertaken in the final phases of the research programme that investigated factors in the design, implementation, management and policy of integrated care programmes.

Involving an analysis of four European case studies of care integration, the research concluded that integrated care was an approach to service transformation that had the potential to improve the quality of care experiences and outcomes to patients. However, the research found that implementation was highly context-specific requiring a set of essential pre-requisites to be met at a micro-, meso- and macro-level.
